Governor – Mr Dale Gorley

I chose to become a school governor because I wanted to give something back in order to benefit the education and opportunities of local children.

Born and bred in a neighbouring town, I was educated locally and benefited from a great primary and secondary education before heading to Northumbria University for my degree.

I have a keen interest in all aspects of the curriculum but in particular English and writing skills. I work in marketing and communications for a transatlantic law firm and have had to rely heavily on my writing skills and experience throughout my career. I hope this experience and knowledge can benefit the children of Esh Winning by working closely with the staff to drive the school’s English standards.

I’m incredibly passionate about children being afforded the opportunities to support their growth and personal development and will be a huge advocate of that moving forward. Whilst early in my time with the school’s governing body, I am already proud to be part of a passionate group with the children’s best interests at heart.
