I became a school governor to help make a positive difference to the education of the children of Esh Winning.
Being an ex-pupil myself and having three children who attended the school meant I already had links to the school and I was keen to get a better understanding of the workings of day-to-day life at Esh Winning Primary. I became a governor in 2006 when I was appointed as a parent governor, once my children had left the school to attend comprehensive, I continued on in the role of Local Authority governor due to my work links with Durham County Council.
I specialise in ICT Support Services for DCC and hope my experience in this area brings a positive influence to ICT within the school. I am also part of the Curriculum & Personnel Committees and enjoy the opportunity to be involved in key decisions made within these groups. I hope to continue my work as a school governor at Esh Winning Primary for many years to come.
