It is our intent at Esh Winning to teach children life skills that will positively impact on their future. We aim to deliver high-quality teaching and learning opportunities that inspire all children to succeed in physical activities. We want to teach children how to co-operate and collaborate with others, as part of a team, understanding fairness and equity of play to embed life-long values.
We recognise the value of physical education and we fully adhere to the aims of the national curriculum for physical education to ensure that all children:
- develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities;
- are able to remain physically active for sustained periods of time and have an understanding of the importance of this in promoting long-term health and well-being;
- engage in competitive sports and activities;
- lead healthy, active lives;
- can swim at least 25 metres before the end of Year 6 and know how to remain safe in and around water;
- have the opportunity to take part and experience a wide range of sports and physical activity.
